What can I expect from therapy?
In your therapy sessions we will work in the way that best serves your unique self, guided by your internal wisdom. You will be supported in connecting to the wise part of yourself in order to facilitate your healing. We will use the techniques that work best for you, which can include EMDR, mind body therapy, mindfulness, guided imagery, expressive art, DBT, or just simply talking. Often, my clients express that a combination of techniques is most effective for them. My focus is on supporting you and helping you to remove the obstacles that block you from feeling joy and self love, in the way that best supports your personal process.
What happens in the first session?
In the first session we will begin to get to know one another. When you arrive at my office, I will have some forms waiting for you to fill out. Make yourself comfortable in the waiting room, have a cup of tea, and when it is time to begin your appointment I will bring you into my private office. I may ask you some questions about yourself and your history, and you can share as much or as little as feels comfortable for you. You can express what brings you to therapy and we may talk about what you are looking to get out of our therapeutic relationship together. We will also go over my office policies, and I will answer any questions that you have.
How much will it cost?
The rate for a standard 50 minute therapy session is $180.
Do you accept insurance? I can provide you with a monthly document called a superbill to give to your insurance company, and they may reimburse you for a percentage of the session fee, anywhere from 20-80% of the total charge. Please contact your insurance company directly to ask questions about this process and to find out what is covered under your policy.
